FAH 222 - Global Contemporary Art

An exploration of contemporary global trends in the visual arts including painting, sculpture, architecture, installation, photography and new media, as well as politics, activism, and the role of the artist in society from the late 20th century to the present.  Areas of study include Conceptualism, Earthworks, Neo-Expressionism, Video and performance Art, Feminist Art, Post-Modernism, Post-Colonial art, and the breaking of traditional media and geographical boundaries.

Note: Meets Aesthetic and Creative Engagement Learning Outcome (AEST) and the Writing Intensive Requirement (WI)

Four credits.
