PY 202 - Infant and Child Development In this course, we will examine the nature of developmental change from the prenatal period through middle childhood. Our examination will lead us to consider various theoretical perspectives (e.g., biological, learning, cognitive, contextual) across various domains of development (i.e., physical, socio-emotional, and cognitive). Major themes in developmental psychology will be addressed such as the contributions of nature and nurture, individual differences, and evidence for both stability and change. We will practice applying developmental principles to practical settings, policy issues, and current topics.
