PY 199 - Child Growth and Development

This course examines the multiple dimensions of child development, and the place of education in promoting healthy development for all children. In the course, we will explore the interdependent processes of child development, including physical, social, cognitive, linguistic, and emotional development, from conception through age 12. Special emphasis on the elementary school years will help students preparing for careers in elementary education gain an understanding of children’s growth and development relevant to their interest in children’s success as learners. Open to Elementary Education Majors Only.
