BI 211 - Genetics for Healthcare This course will introduce current concepts of in modern molecular genetics, including with a focus on information relevant to healthcare. In this course, we will cover the medical, molecular basis of inheritance, how genetic diseases and disorders are inherited, how genetics contribute to complex diseases, and the ethical and, legal, and social implications related toof the use of genetics in healthcare. A This is a non-lab biology course intended primarily for sophomore nursing students and health science students.
Three hours of lecture each week for one semester. Four credits.
Prerequisite(s): One semester of a college-level biology laboratory course or permission of the instructor.
