The Office of International Programs

The Office of International Programs at Saint Anselm College aims to provide study abroad experiences that will offer students growth in global awareness, intercultural competence, and intellectual enrichment, and career preparedness. The Office of International Programs also assists international students with all matters concerning immigration including but not limited to applying for their initial F-1 student visa through to applying for Optional Practical Training.

STUDY ABROAD

The Office of International Programs offers students many options and highly encourages every qualified student to study abroad for a year, a semester, or a summer. Students report that time spent abroad enriches their college experiences and provides them with many academic and personal rewards. Of critical note are the career readiness competencies developed during study abroad experiences.

The College encourages students to study abroad on the Saint Anselm in Tuscania program.  Each spring semester students will be able to study in Tuscania, Italy alongside their classmates taking classes taught by Saint Anselm and host institution faculty.  The College also offers numerous study abroad and cross-cultural opportunities through host institutions and study abroad provider partnerships. Through these connections, students may elect to spend a semester or summer abroad throughout the world. In recent years, students have studied in Australia, Austria, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand, in addition to engaging in international internships around the globe.

Office staff work one-on-one with all students interested in studying overseas, regardless of duration of program. To ensure the highest level of experiential high impact learning, advising focuses on program fit, courses needed, and career-readiness goals that students establish.  Courses are pre-approved to maintain normal progress towards degree completion.  To participate in any study abroad program, students must apply, meet all program requirements and be approved by both the provider and the College, and have their proposed studies approved in concert by the appropriate academic department and the Office of International Programs. (For further details, contact the Office of International Programs or visit http://www.anselm.edu/studyabroad.)
