BI 110 - Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing


This class examines the structure and function of human cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. The interdependence of these systems is emphasized and related to the field of nursing health professions. Emphasis will be on how the anatomy and physiology are important tools in understanding health, function, and disease. In the lab, students will examine anatomy at each level of integration, from cells through organs, through interaction with human models, organ dissections of terrestrial mammals, and exploration of human physiological processes.

Note: This course is not open to Biology, Health Science, Natural Science, Environmental Science or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology majors.

 

Meets Scientific Reasoning Learning Outcome (SCI). 

Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory each week for one semester. Four credits.
