FR 100 - French I A careful study of the fundamentals of the French language and an introduction to the culture of a variety of French-speaking countries. Online video, audio, and textual explanations and exercises prepare the student for further in-class practice. By the end of the course, students will start to be able to function in a concrete French context, expressing themselves due to a basic grasp of all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and of some of the target culture’s products, practices, and perspectives. The course requires three contact hours with the professor and one contact hour of conversation with a Native Speaker each week.
Four credits.
