HI 357 - United States Labor History This course examines the experiences of workers and the development of organized labor movements in the United States from the colonial period to the present. It explores the intersection of class, race, and gender, and emphasizes that the American labor experience reaches beyond unions to include groups as diverse as colonial craftsmen, antebellum slaves, and twentieth-century fast food employees.
