Computer Science Minors

The minor in Computer Science provides students with a general proficiency in the field of Computer Science and prepares them to enter a field that requires a level of computer expertise. Students gain a foundation in the field that will enable them to explore in more detail how to use computers to solve real-world problems.
Students will complete 5 courses: 3 required and 2 electives to earn a minor in Computer Science.

Students can choose any two Computer Science courses numbered 200 or above excluding CS 204 A Computational Approach to Problem Solving. Note:
* In the event that a student is eligible to take CS 112 without taking CS 111 , the student can substitute another Computer Science course for CS 111 with department approval.
** This math requirement can be fulfilled by MA 170 Calculus I, a Statistics course (BU 121 , MA 330-340 , SO 212 , CJ 200 , BI 345 , PY 301 ) or another Math-based course approved by the department.
CS 111 and CS 112 each have a lab component. CS 115 has a recitation.
